I have used this juicer an average of 5 times a week since October 2010.(about 8 months) Nothing has broken. A very large hard item such as a carrot can jamb the unit and that's what the reverse switch is for. (rare) I feed stringy things such as celery through at the end because they can jamb up the port if done early in the batch. I pour a few ounces of a liquid, coconut water, water, etc, through at the end because this causes it to process more of the material still in the auger area and eject more pulp. I am still really very happy with this unit.
