I am SO glad I got this and didn't end up buying a new vacuum blender to replace my Vitamix 7500. I can't speak for durability because it just arrived today, but I put it through some paces and am thrilled. First of all, my Vitamix had a low jar that fits under counter tops and could not blend small amounts of anything so I had to get an accessory kit cluttering up my kitchen. Not anymore - I successfully blended 4 oz water with a half cup of frozen strawberries and it worked. It cavitated so I had to stop it and shake the jar but the Vitamix would have never accomplished that task due to it's wider base.
The vacuum part is awesome for storage so I would encourage everybody with a compatible Vitamix to get this and ditch their old jars. And this thing did a satisfactory job with a cup of soaked Brazil nuts with a cup of water.
